Course Goal
To provide the knowledge and skills necessary for persons applying for a North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun Permit, in accordance with the requirements of the North Carolina Administrative Code.
Course Objectives
The student will:
- Conduct an approved firearms qualification course for North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit applicants. Students must score at least 70%.
- Understand the legal requirements related to the carrying of a concealed handgun with a North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit. Students must pass a written test with at least 70%. Understand firearms safety, firearms nomenclature, ammunition, fundamentals of shooting and maintenance cleaning a handgun.
- Understand the laws of concerning deadly force in North Carolina, including specific examples of when deadly force is and is not allowed.
- Learn the Basic of carrying a pistol in a holster and firing from the holster. Students will learn to draw from the holster in the classroom and on the range. We fill learning to carry a handgun is an important part of the North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun Permit.
