Two people practicing defensive pistol techniques

DEFENSIVE PISTOL

4 HOUR COURSE

The Defensive Pistol class builds on your understanding and use of Pistol Fundamentals. If you have only stood in front of a target while shooting without thinking then this class will take you to the next level. This class will introduce you to real life defensive pistol shooting. You will leave this class with a proven process to respond to a threat from your holster.

This Defensive Pistol class will start by understanding how you process information during a stressful event. Topics covered are NC laws concerning deadly force, survival mindset and the processes to help you react to the unknown threat.

This Class will review pistol fundamentals, gun safety, and defensive ammunition. We review basic equipment by showing examples from belts to holsters. You will learn how body mechanics and how stress affects you while loading, unloading, and dealing with malfunctions. We will discuss different shooting positions. During this classroom portion you’ll participate in dry fire drills reinforcing training

objectives.

Before moving on to the range we will review range safety and range commands. All drills on the range are designed to build on each other as your skills improve. Drills will include shooting two handed and one handed. You will be challenged to move and use cover while engaging multiple targets at a variety of ranges. At the end of the day stress will be added by conducting drills while on the timer.
